Darren Henry MP leads Westminster Hall Debate on Midlands transport infrastructure
Minister for HS2, Andrew Stephenson MP, responded to issues raised by Midlands Engine APPG members around the Integrated Rail Plan.
Midlands Engine APPG co-chairman Darren Henry MP (Broxtowe) submitted a Westminster Debate ballot on the Integrated Rail Plan following the Midlands Engine APPG transport subgroup in early November. The debate was confirmed for 17th November. In his opening speech, Darren outlined his commitment to supporting the Government’s levelling up agenda, citing the importance of HS2 Phase 2b and the Eastern leg to his constituents, and communities and businesses in the Midlands and the North. Regional MPs contributed towards the debate including Tom Randall MP (Gedling) and Lilian Greenwood (Nottingham South) before the HS2 minister Andrew Stephenson MP responded to the comments raised. The Integrated Rail Plan is expected at the end of 2020.
